Seneca Lodge is a pretty historic place. Also, it’s the heart of the NY wine trail depending on how much you like wine, Wineries are all up and down both sides of Seneca Lake (Lake which Watkins Glen is on). Finger Lakes distillery is on 414 about 10 miles north of town as well. I think 3 Heads Brewery is near there as well. There’s a few restaurants in Downtown Watkins Glen but the Pizza Hut and BK are the only places I’ve eaten from there...

Yeah. I know there are a few breweries down there now. There’s a good place in Ithaca if you’re willing to make that drive. It’s like 30 minutes East I believe. Ithaca Beer Co. I’m native to the area so I know it pretty well.

Glen Mountain Market Bakery and Deli has some fantastic focaccia sandwiches! Some would even say they’re worth worth driving 525 miles for !

It’s always my go-to lunch place when I do track days at the Glen.

Jo. Two Goats Brewery on the east side wine trail...414? 10 minutes from downtown. It might be popular this weekend but just go. Great lake view, beer and roast beef sammies if they haven’t sold out. Skip all wineries but Bloomer Creek and buy tons of wine there if thats your thing, Michelin starred eateries do. what the hell get some fantastic whiskey at Finger Lakes distillery they’re all on the same road. .. Also a compelling euro car yard. You’ll spot the Volvos and BMW 6 series .

Ive lived in or around Watkins my entire life, Mr. Chicken across from the State Park entrance is by far the best eatery in town and a must. As someone else mentioned the Seneca Lodge is another good place, to give you an idea of the place, they have James Hunt’s and other F1 drivers laurels hanging above their bar and the owners daughter (a good friend of my parents) sat on Francois Cevert’s lap while he played the piano there the night before he died. There arent really any great bars but enough to suffice for a night or two, Ill be around all weekend, let me know if you want to ever grab a drink, lap the original grand prix course or something!
